Anya Basic
Pipe Dream Patterns
$20.00 each
The Anya Basic Pattern by Pipe Dream Patterns is a fantastic sleeveless basic pattern. There are two front neckline options, a slouchy cowl or a higher round neck, both with a low scoop in the back. Each style can be made as a tank top, dress, or bodysuit.
The pattern envelope contains a full size printed pattern and printed instructions. Included in the instructions are a full set of Finished Garment Measurements. Please note that this pattern is designed with negative ease, and if you wish for less negative ease than drafted, you should select a larger size. This pattern is only available in the “Beatha” size/shape currently.
Pipe Dream Patterns is a small indie designer based in Scotland.

A jersey with high stretch and recovery will create a beautiful “wiggle” dress, or choose a heavier ITY to give the cowl-neck more definition.

Design Information & Sizing | Pipe Dream Patterns designs with two different shapes. If both are available, please choose your pattern based on both measurements and body shape. The pattern gallery images do not show the cut pattern piece measurements, which are listed below, but rather the finished garment measurements, so that ultimate customization is possible. Their "Beatha" line (Scottish Gaelic for "being") is designed for an hourglass shape, C cup, and 5'5" in height. Beatha covers bust measurements 32" – 46", and hip measurements 35"-48". Their "Saorsa" line is designed for a pear shape, DD cup, and 5'10" in height. Saorsa covers bust measurements 44" – 58", and hip measurements 52" – 66". |
What else do I need? | Fabric recommendations: jersey knit, ribbed knit, ponte, stretch velvet, and other knits with at least 2-way stretch for top and tank; or bodysuit style, 4-way stretch is a must. A ponte or other structured knit will create a more dramatic cowl neckline. Bodysuit: 1 metre *Please note that as this is a Scottish company, their fabric requirements are in METERS. 1m = 1.094yd. If you order the recommended amount here in YARDS, you will end up with a slight amount more than what the pattern calls for. Additional fabric may be required to match stripes, plaids, or using border prints, or when lengthening your pattern pieces. Supplies: |
